So I had an ugly grey shower curtain, every morning I would wake up in a great mood ready to conquer my next 12 hour shift. My normal routine is: go to the kitchen and start my day with a wonderful cup of dark roasted coffee. Okay! That’s not, what I want to see. That’s not what I want to greet me. I want the water to be blue, a bright blue that just mesmerizes me. I want a water that just invites me in to swim, snorkel, dive. Speaking of diving; this shower curtain reminds me of a recent dive, my team and I went on, “The Blue Hole”. Gosh, the memories we made on that trip was impressive. Okay, back to my new shower curtain, it’s beautiful and bright, oh yes, I already told you that. When I received the package, I started to open it and thought oh I so hope this is not one of those shower curtains that I have to take outside and lay in the 111* Southwestern Sun. You see with asthma, certain odors can cause an asthma attack. I had just used my last inhaler puff and my new prescription wasn’t going to arrive for another 3 days. Well, too late, I had already opened the package, at least partially. I quickly take the package outside and finish opening it. No odor, thank gosh. Oh wow, I’m thinking this shower curtain is so, so beautiful. It’s not a thin fabric that will just get sucked into the shower and try wrapping your body up like an octopus clinging to every part of your body. So after I open it up and shake it flat, the hot wind, remember I’m in the southwest and it’s 111* decides to blow. Suddenly a childhood memory comes to me. I had grabbed the white sheets of the clothes line that my momma had hung up to dry. I wrapped one around my body and the other I held above my head running all around the back yard. My brother didn’t shut the gate after having taken out the trash that morning. After all, it was Wednesday, everyone knows Wednesdays are trash days. Also, every one knows that you have to shut the gates otherwise your dogs will get out. Do you realize how awful it is to have loose dogs on trash day running around the neighborhood in 111*? I want any purchase I make to be sewn and stitches reinforced so that after I wash it, nothing is falling apart. Speaking of washing, I did have to wash it, yep already. I was thinking please don’t let these beautiful colors run together, absolutely they can’t fade. After all, I wanted something to brighten my day, first thing in the morning. After all, I was done being bummed out by a grey shower curtain. Okay, you are probably wondering, well at least , I would be wondering why on earth does she have to wash this thing after it had only been up a couple days? I had just walked into the bathroom to turn on the shower and oops, I tried to turn on the shower with the same hand that held the coffee cup. Silly me. Oh well, I thought let’s wash this shower curtain. How could I do that? It’s morning, I have to be at work at 6:00am. I double check my schedule and I’m in luck no appointments until after lunch. Perfect, so I put it in the washer on quick wash. I was thinking if I’m gonna wait and wash this before work, certainly I can get about 30 minutes at the gym. So workout is done, legs are sore, I always do legs on Wednesdays. I pull the shower curtain out of the washer and it’s bright and new looking, I tell you nothing faded. This is a dream come true.
