My upstairs bathroom has a shower only/no tub, with a pretty short lip. It was a pain keeping my outer/decorative curtain on the outside because it was somewhat lightweight and when the AC/heat is on it would be more than enough to push the curtain into the shower and into me. The weighted magnets are heavy enough to keep it out of my shower. I haven’t needed to clean them yet, but they have a rubber/silicone covering so they won’t rust and damage my curtain or floors. My only complaint is that if you jostle one pair of magnets with another (usually while opening the shower curtain, it can cause both sets to be knocked off. Not a big deal since I don’t generally go around yanking the curtain open or closed quickly.First off, do not listen to the people here who say these are weak magnets. They clearly do not understand magnetism. Simply flip the discs over until you find the two sides meant to go together. Once they are joined, you'll find them difficult to separate. In fact, I'm not able to pull them apart. I can only slide them apart. The sides are not marked, but if you look at both sides you'll see the individual magnets under the rubber casing on one side only. Join two discs magnet side to magnet side and you'll see how strong they are.I had ordered a lighter than usual fabric shower curtain liner and knew it would blow into the shower while showering. I took a chance and ordered these despite some negative reviews. The magnets are a bit larger than I had anticipated, but I think overall that is a good thing. I spaced the magnets out evenly and they keep the shower curtain down and in place! A butter knife or flat head screwdriver will be needed to pry them apart. Make sure you have them right where you want the before letting them go and don't get any fingers in the way. To take them off to launder the liner they will need to be pried off again with a butter knife (which is what i used). Having a wet shower curtain blowing in and sticking to you isn't a good feeling and fighting with them is even less fun! I love these, they are a godsend!I use these magnets to keep my entry door screen in place for when the dogs run through it. Just enough weight to bring the bottom inside corners together to allow the other magnets to connect closing the split screen "door"The magnetics keep the shower liner in place. These magnets are great compared to all the others that I’ve seen on Amazon. The material they’re made out of is a durable rubber-like substance. So, they can take a bit of abuse without breaking, which is the issue for a lot of the other magnets on this site. The magnet in them is pretty strong, so I haven’t had any issues with them slipping off of the shower curtain or anything of the sort. Four come in the set, so make sure to space them out evenly. Don’t put the magnets too close to the edge of the shower curtain, or it’ll keep the curtain from being able to close completely and there will be a gap for water to seep onto the floor (in a traditional bathtub). Also, make sure that you have the magnets facing the right way, because they will still “stick” even tho they’re facing the wrong way, but the attraction won’t be as strong. In terms of actual use, the magnets are very decent at combatting the dreaded shower curtain drift. They’re not heavy enough to keep the curtain from moving, but they do keep it from moving as much as it did without them. So, my thin curtain still sways in the breeze a bit, but the weights stop it from swaying enough to touch me and annoy me. Ideally these would be perfect in addition to a heavier shower liner with a weighted hem. But they can be useful with a regular (thin/flimsy) shower curtain, that won’t stay put, as well.Needed weights for the curtains outside on the patio. These curtain weights are very heavy. Almost too heavy for patio curtains but they really hold them down in the wind. I say to clean and take off when we want the curtains to flow in the wind.Very strong magnets. They do their job
